紙質(zhì)書比電子書對(duì)大腦更有益處

  • 菁優(yōu)網(wǎng)1.Printed books are better for your brain than ebooks Do you know printed books have more benefits than ebooks on our brain?Let's have a look at the science behind the idea.
First, printed books help keep our attention. That's because with a printed book,we only have the pages in front of us.However, with an e-book,there are lots of things we can do like checking others' comments on the book.Scientists have done a survey at American University.92% of people taking part in it said they keep their attention better when reading the printed book.A printed book encourages us to read more carefully and helps our brain to keep our attention to the book.
Second, printed books help us to get and keep more information. They help to hold our attention and trigger more concentrated reading. So we are better able to get and keep more information from them.A study at Stavanger University in Norway gave 50 readers the same short story to read.It asked half the readers to use a Kindle to read the story. And half the readers read from a printed book. The results found that people reading the story on a Kindle found it harder to retell the story.
What's more, printed books help us to put more feelings in them and they bring us more happiness because they can trigger different kinds of senses to increase readers' happiness.

  • 2.Plastic bottle houses in Nigeria 廢棄塑料瓶建房子,一舉多得。
New Mexico is famous for its adobe dwellings,Beijing for its Siheyuan, and now,in Nigeria, there are villages catching people's attention with their plastic bottle houses.
We can find waste plastic bottles everywhere. And in Nigeria, there is enough to create a new business.People in some villages are using the waste plastic bottles to build houses. They fill the plastic bottles with sand and build walls with them.It takes more than 14,000 plastic bottles to build a house--enough to make a big difference to the local environment.
At the same time, plastic bottle houses are the cheapest houses to build because the building materials are easy to get.The cost of plastic bottle houses is a third less than traditional houses.
And,this kind of greener house is strong enough to stand up to earthquakes and climate changes. It can last for over 300 years if people build it properly and carefully.
What's more, building plastic bottle houses creates jobs for local people. They can make money by filling the bottles and learn the skills of building houses.
People throw away billions of plastic bottles every year, with a lot of them making their way to farmlands and the ocean. They are a great threat to both human beings and other living things on the planet. Now,with this new use of them,we can make a change.
